Here are some frequently asked questions about our private boat charters
If you have a question and cannot find the answer below, reach out and we will be happy to help!
How many people can I bring?
M/V Tabasco has a strict 6 passenger limit. Passengers are defined as any living human, regardless of age. This includes infants. If your group is larger than 6 guests, we can recommend some great alternatives!
What should I bring?
The weather on the water can be unpredictable at times. We recommend bringing common beach items such as: sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, water, and a towel if you plan to swim, We also recommend bringing an extra layer or light jacket just in case it gets chilly. Remember, it is usually chillier on the water than it is on land.
Can I bring my pup?
Absolutely! We love dogs! As long as they are trained and well behaved feel free to bring your pup along! Dogs do not count towards the 6 passenger limit.

Can we swim?
Yes. Bring your swim trunks and a towel because swimming is not just allowed but encouraged! If you would like to jump in but cannot swim, let your crew know and we can provide you a life jacket. Please note that stopping for a swim on shorter cruises will take away from sightseeing time.
Can we stop for lunch?
Sure! There are a few spots that we can stop along the way to get provisions. Our favorite spot is across the bay in downtown Jamestown- sandwiches, ice cream, more wine, you name it! Like swimming, stopping along the way on shorter cruises will take away from sightseeing time.

Can we drink?
Yes. Anyone over age 21 is allowed to drink alcohol aboard M/V Tabasco. We are BYOB and offer specialty cocktails for purchase. We ask that you please drink responsibly.
What if I drink too much?
We have all been there and do not wish to go back. The captain and crew reserve the right to return to the dock and end a cruise at any point if they deem necessary. We encourage having a good time but please know your limits and be responsible. If a cruise is ended early for this reason, there will be no refund.

Does the boat have a bathroom?
Yes. M/V Tabasco is equip with a standard marine head. We kindly ask that you keep it to #1 only. Only bodily waste can go in the toilet, NOTHING ELSE. There is a trash receptacle in the bathroom for anything that cannot go in the toilet.
Does the crew accept gratuity?
Yes. Our team works hard to create the best possible experience for our guests and does work for gratuity. We see 20% of the cruise cost as an average amount to tip. If your cruise was not satisfactory please reach out directly via phone or email ASAP to discuss.

Can I bring my fishing rod?
No. Sea Newport has a strict no fishing policy. We can recommend fishing charter boats if you are interested in fishing.

What if it rains?
The Captain will only make the call to cancel a cruise for dangerous conditions such as lightning, fog, and high wind. That said, we know you probably do not want to go for a boat ride in the rain. If the weather is deemed within reason, guests can postpone the trip to the next convenient and available time, If postponement is not possible, guests may cancel for a full refund. Postponement or cancellation due to weather is only available day of the cruise.

Cancelation and Rebooking Policy
Guests can cancel a cruise up to 72 hours prior to leaving the dock and receive a full refund. If cancelled within 72 hours and 24 hours prior, guests will receive a refund of 50% of the price of the cruise. Any cancellation within 24 hours will incur no refund, unless cancelled by the captain for weather, safety, or unforeseen issues. If a cancelled booking time is filled, a 100% refund will be issued.

A rebooking fee of $25 will be charged to change the scheduled time of a previously booked charter, unless waived by Sea Newport for exceptional circumstance. If rebooking a charter within 72 hours prior to departure, rebooking to a date/time outside of 72 hours waives the right to a full refund.
